ROME / TUSCOLANO
A Rome to
live in.
Between everyday city life, cinema and ancient aqueducts: the neighborhood is part of the journey.

01
Parco degli Acquedotti
Here the Roman countryside meets one of the ancient world’s great engineering works. The arches of the Aqua Claudia, inaugurated in AD 52, cross the landscape alongside the remains of other aqueducts that supplied Rome with water. Centuries later, Pope Sixtus V built the Acqua Felice, adding another chapter to this place’s story.
Today it is open space for a walk, a run or a pause on the grass. Along the paths you can also find the Villa delle Vignacce and the Marrana dell’Acqua Mariana, a medieval water channel. At sunset, the arches give the park its most memorable outline.

Quadraro
The Quadraro is a neighborhood of intimate streets, small shops and everyday life, with a history worth knowing. During the Nazi occupation it was a center of Roman resistance. On 17 April 1944, German troops rounded up the neighborhood in an operation called “Balena” and deported many residents. The memory of that day still lives in its streets and in Parco 17 Aprile 1944.
A walk through the Quadraro also reveals its urban art. M.U.Ro, a project that began here in 2010, has turned walls into an open-air gallery where contemporary images meet the neighborhood’s memory.

Cinecittà
Along Via Tuscolana, Cinecittà tells another side of Rome’s story. The film studios opened in 1937 and became a landmark of Italian and international cinema: sets, sound stages, costumes and skilled craftspeople have shaped stories seen around the world.
It is more than a name on the map: the studios are still working, and the Cinecittà si Mostra exhibition offers a closer look at their history and the craft of filmmaking. It is a natural stop for anyone curious about Rome beyond the historic center.
