Welcome to City Guest House!
Style and comfort were a priority when the City Guest House was designed, to raise beyond people’s expectations and create a memorable experience.
The hotel is located in the Tuscolana area where you will encounter true Romans rather than hordes of tourists and the associated ‘tourist traps’ chasing their spending money. Instead, we are a 15 minute metro trip to Piazza di Spagna
The City Guest House is the vision come true for husband and wife team Giuliano and Alessandra. Giuliano, possibly due to his Italian-New Zealand genes, settled down in Rome after travelling the world to become a hotelier. Alessandra is an established interior designer passionate about elegance and detail. Together, they built a hotel which reflects their strong conviction that tourist’s experience of the Eternal City should not be spoiled when they walk back to their pricey centrally located hotel. At the City Guest House they can expect a pleasant, family friendly and stylish environment at a fraction of the cost.
The benefits of staying off the beaten track are obvious when you go out for a meal locally. Forget tourist menus. Everything is of good value, great quality and you will not be asked to leave after 45 minutes to make space for the next batch of tourists. Give our own Accasadì restaurant a go to find out why it has it has such a good reputation amongst locals.
Over the years we have invested heavily in making communal areas just as welcoming and comfortable as our rooms.
The Roof Garden Art
Situated on the 5th floor, the Roof Garden Art is a fully enclosed terrace where we serve breakfast each morning and becomes a quiet area for people to relax the rest of the day. The space has been designed using terracotta colours and splashes with a hint of colonial style, which works well to create a comfortable and elegant environment. As the music quietly plays in the background you can browse our collection of books or read a magazine, or check your Facebook account on your iPad.
The Lounge Area
The Lounge Area on the 4th floor is another communal area for people to socialise and relax in. It is a warm and inviting space just like your own living room, with a library, magazines and facilities for making coffee and purchasing snacks at any time. This area also features an ‘Energy Transmuter’, a device that helps balance energy levels of people and the environment to promote wellbeing. The ‘cleanergy’ is built by a company locally and often a conversation starter amongst our guests.
The Reception is the first area of the hotel people see so it makes perfect sense to have try and impress our guests as we welcome them. It’s where we spend much of our time and therefore designed for own comfort too, reflecting our own interest in art and design. And like with other communal areas, there is space for you to sit back and relax with a magazine or book. Or access the internet using the hotel-wide wi-fi connection or computer point.
